{"id":11809,"date":"2025-11-06T10:56:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T09:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sedanoc.rwdesarrollos2.es\/actualidad\/more-than-60-of-companies-believe-they-will-have-trouble-replacing-retiring-employees\/"},"modified":"2025-11-06T10:56:00","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T09:56:00","slug":"more-than-60-of-companies-believe-they-will-have-trouble-replacing-retiring-employees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sedanoc.rwdesarrollos2.es\/en\/actualidad\/more-than-60-of-companies-believe-they-will-have-trouble-replacing-retiring-employees\/","title":{"rendered":"MORE THAN 60% OF COMPANIES BELIEVE THEY WILL HAVE TROUBLE REPLACING RETIRING EMPLOYEES"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><b><i>According to a survey conducted by the Adecco Group and Infoempleo, this perception has grown by 6.42 percentage points over the last year<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b><i>A total of 64.06% of Spanish companies believe they will face difficulties replacing retiring employees due to a shortage of staff in their business area, a perception that has increased by 6.42 percentage points in the past year and by more than 27 points compared to 2023<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is revealed by the 28th edition of the &#8216;Infoempleo Adecco Report: Job Supply and Demand in Spain&#8217;, which highlights that the surveyed companies claim to have between 30% and 75% of their workforce aged over 50.<\/p>\n<p><b>However, the study shows that, paradoxically, 81.25% of the companies have not taken steps to implement any strategy to encourage the recruitment of candidates over 50 years old during the past year (a percentage similar to the previous year).<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The remaining 18.75% either do not consider the candidate&#8217;s age in their processes or already have senior talent programs in place to reduce ageism-based workplace discrimination.<\/p>\n<p><b>&#8220;The aging population and the low labor replacement rate threaten the sustainability of the labor market. Over the next ten years, far more people will retire than young people will enter the workforce. In a scenario of talent shortage, this will only worsen the problem,&#8221; stated Alberto Gavil\u00e1n, Talent Director at the Adecco Group.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>According to Gavil\u00e1n, it is &#8220;necessary&#8221; for Spanish companies to improve the participation of young people and those over 50 in today&#8217;s market, as well as to offer appealing professional projects to repatriate qualified talent who moved abroad.<\/p>\n<p><b>&#8220;The integration of migrant labor is also essential to ensure the sustainability of our employment and to offset the lack of generational replacement,&#8221; he asserted.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>&#8220;POSITIVE&#8221; PROGRESS IN HIRING YOUNG TALENT<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Conversely, the survey emphasizes that &#8220;there has been some positive progress in plans to hire young talent.&#8221; Along those lines, although 62.50% of the surveyed companies still do not take any action to hire people under 30, this proportion has decreased by eleven percentage points over the last year.<\/p>\n<p><b>Of the 37.50% that did take measures to promote youth employment during 2024, 75% run internship programs in collaboration with educational centers (+15.91 percentage points), 37.50% maintain agreements with centers to offer training programs to their employees (-7.92 points), 29.17% offer scholarship programs for young people (+15.56 points), and another 25% report having launched guidance and mentoring programs (-11.36 points).<\/b><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, 73.44% of the surveyed organizations believe that Spain has a structural unemployment problem that requires addressing several fronts, though the survey notes that this perception has dropped by 17.15 percentage points year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p><b>Among them, 51.06% believe that this structural unemployment is due to a lack of talent or skilled labor (-0.89 percentage points), and for another 38.30%, it is caused by a lack of tax incentives for hiring (-13.65 points).<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A total of 34.04% believe there is an excessive reliance on seasonality in certain sectors (+6.77 percentage points), and in the opinion of 25.53%, there is also a low level of sector diversification (+12.54 points).<\/p>\n<h3><b>DIFFICULTIES FINDING TALENT: 73.91% OF COMPANIES<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>The analysis points out that the difficulty in finding suitable talent &#8220;remains one of the daily problems&#8221; for companies, as indicated by 73.91% of those surveyed, and suggests that &#8220;there seems to be a combination of factors on both the corporate and candidate sides.&#8221;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Thus, 76.56% of the surveyed organizations estimate that there is a shortage of profiles suited to their activity, representing an increase of 10.68 points since last year, while 45.31% believe the issue lies in candidates&#8217; salary expectations, which are well above the salaries offered by the company (+8.84 percentage points).<\/p>\n<p><b>Furthermore, 34.38% of companies mention that they fail to attract candidates because they do not offer the flexibility measures they require \u2014such as remote work or flexible hours\u2014, 12 points higher than the previous year, and 28.13% believe the problem is that they cannot find workers with the appropriate training (-13.05 points).<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A total of 20.31% of companies highlight that the lack of career paths is another major obstacle to recruiting talent, a percentage that fell by two points over the last year, and another 17.19% believe the problem stems from candidates&#8217; lack of geographic mobility (+5.43 percentage points).<\/p>\n<h3><b>LOWER TURNOVER<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Similarly, the organizations surveyed for the report place the average volume of staff turnover they had to deal with over the past year at 20%, nearly seven percentage points lower than the previous year and three points below the average recorded in 2019, prior to the pandemic.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This trend suggests that voluntary resignations by workers are decreasing, either due to improvements in corporate talent management policies, or because of uncertainty regarding the labor and economic outlook that workers anticipate for the coming months,&#8221;
