- The flash estimate of the CPI sets its annual variation at 2.3% in February, the same as that registered in January
- The annual rate of the flash estimate of core inflation increases by one tenth, to 2.7%

The estimated annual inflation of the CPI in February 2026 is 2.3%, according to the flash estimate prepared by the INE.
This indicator provides a preview of the CPI which, if confirmed, would mean that the annual rate remains stable, since in the month of January this variation was 2.3%.
This behavior is downwardly affected by the decrease in electricity prices, which rose in February 2025.
For its part, the upward influence of fuels and lubricants for personal vehicles, restaurants and accommodation services, and food and non-alcoholic beverages stands out, whose prices increased more than in the same month last year.
The estimated annual variation rate of core inflation (general index excluding unprocessed food and energy products) increases by one tenth, to 2.7%.
In February, consumer prices recorded a rate of 0.4% compared to the month of January, according to the flash estimate of the CPI.
HARMONISED INDEX OF CONSUMER PRICES (HICP)
In the month of February, the estimated annual variation rate of the HICP increases by one tenth and stands at 2.5%.
The estimated annual rate of core inflation for the HICP stands at 2.8%.
For its part, the estimated monthly variation of the HICP is 0.4%.
